Volunteer support helps make the difference between a good school and a great school. Students, teachers, and staff all benefit when schools and families work together to support a positive and welcoming learning environment.
We are an active PTSA with many opportunities for your involvement, and we encourage you to participate at the level that best suits you and your family. Many parents assume they are no longer needed at school during the high school years but... Austin High needs you more than ever!

Opportunities for Parents/Guardians to Contribute and Volunteer

Join the “Austin High PTSA” Facebook page, another helpful source of information.
PTSA Membership. Fees may be paid starting Aug. 1. Parents, staff and students are all encouraged to join.
Staff Pampering Days. Typically held the Wednesday and Thursday before fall break, it’s a welcome reprieve with chair massages and yoga. Families can donate body care samples, snacks and gift cards; help with setting up and breaking down the event.
Annual Custodian Holiday Fund. Funds are collected from Dec. 1 to the middle of the month and given to the school custodians in appreciation for keeping the campus clean and safe.
Valentine’s Day Breakfast. A long-standing tradition (50+ years!) and celebration for all the staff and teachers at Austin High. A SignupGenius link will be shared in the Maroon Update and on the Facebook page. Families can help with setup/cleanup, food donations, gift cards.
ALL IN for Austin High Fundraiser
This is the primary fundraiser dedicated to promoting academic excellence across ALL academic academies and for EVERY student. The funds raised play a vital role in supporting travel, field trips, academic experiences, and extracurricular activities.
Typically in April on a Friday or Saturday evening. Opportunities for families to help in the areas of: Sponsorship/Fundraising, Communications, Decorations, Food & Beverages, Day of Event Help
Teacher Appreciation Week: First week in May. A signup link will be shared — contributions of HEB gift cards for teacher raffles, refreshments and snacks are welcomed.
ACS/ADT/AGS/ASI Parent Advisory Boards
They support each of the academies by organizing lunchtime speaker events for students and evening Parent Mingles in the fall and spring, as well as supporting staff with supplies and other needs.
Booster Clubs for Athletics and Performing Arts
Extra- and co-curricular activities and clubs typically have Booster Clubs where parents/guardians can offer support, buy merchandise and make donations.
Office Volunteers
Email [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer in the front office, library, counseling office. Monthly and weekly commitments are appreciated; drop-in and substitute volunteers are welcome, too.
